First Week Camming as a Guy โ What I Expected vs What Actually Happened
I just finished my first week camming on Chaturbate and I want to document everything while it's fresh. If you're thinking about starting, this is what you need to know.
Day 1 โ Monday
Went live at 8pm. Hands were shaking. Had maybe 5 viewers for the first 30 minutes. Almost quit. Then the "New" tag kicked in and suddenly I had 80 people watching. Made $38 in 90 minutes. The chat was nicer than I expected.
Day 2 โ Tuesday
Better prepared. Had a tip menu written out. Moved my desk lamp for better lighting. Streamed 2 hours, made $67. Starting to understand the rhythm of how tipping works.
Day 3 โ Wednesday
Skipped โ needed to recharge mentally. Camming is more emotionally draining than I expected. Even though nothing bad happened, being "on" for 2 hours while strangers watch you is a lot.
Day 4 โ Thursday
Best night so far. $112 in 2.5 hours. Had a viewer tip 200 tokens for a dare and the whole room got hype. Realized that the energy you bring directly affects your earnings.
Day 5 โ Friday
Peak hours hit different. 200+ viewers at one point. Made $145. Also had my first weird interaction โ someone got aggressive in chat. I banned them immediately and moved on. The regulars actually defended me which was cool.
Day 6 โ Saturday
$178. Saturday night is apparently the best time for male cams. The audience is bigger and tippier. I'm starting to recognize repeat usernames.
Day 7 โ Sunday
Shorter stream, made $89. Announced it was my "one week anniversary" and got celebration tips. Total for the week: $629. Not bad for a guy who was terrified 7 days ago.
Key Takeaways
Take rest days. The energy you bring matters more than how you look. Have a tip menu ready from day one. Ban trolls immediately. And the "New" tag is absolutely real โ take advantage of it.

$629 for a first week is really solid. My first week was around $400 so you're ahead of the curve.
The mental recharge day is SO important. Burnout is real in this industry. Taking breaks is not weakness, it's strategy.
Saturday peak hours are unreal. That's when all my biggest tips happen too.
Update: starting week 2 tonight. Feeling way more confident. Will post an update if people want.
